Description

“Vida+Viva” is organizing the training course “Special Effects” that will take place from 15-23 May 2015 in Cascais, Portugal. This innovative 8-day training is intended for trainers, youth workers, facilitators who like to work in connection with nature, who want to develop their facilitation competences and add some special effects to their trainer’s body, mind, heart and spirit through nature based methods.
The objectives of the training are:
  • To develop skills and get knowledge related to providing effective youth work and training activities with special emphasis on nature-based and community-based approaches.
  • To experience topics relevant to the course in a variety of interactive methods and participant-centred learning processes, such as Way of Council, Open Space, Threshold walk, reflection time and guided time in nature.
  • To challenge some of the current clichés in the field of non formal education through examples and reflections on how concepts such as nature, open communication, spirituality, ceremonies and rites of passage can be included in contemporary educational and experiential activities.
  • To create a social experience of community through sharing living and working spaces, participating in common tasks and daily practices, and to valorise this as an opportunity for learning and personal and social growth.
  • To practise themes of the course in workshops with school youngsters and to reflect on this experience.

Eligibility

The training course is open to youth workers, trainers, facilitators from Cyprus, Czech Republic, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Sweden, or United Kingdom. They should meet the following requirements:
  • interested in improving their training / youth work skills;
  • interested in nature-based methods and challenges connected with it;
  • ready to actively participate in the whole training and to contribute;
  • able to work and communicate in English;
  • able to use the acquired skills in future activities.

Costs

Travel costs, accommodation and food will be covered. There is a participation fee ranging from 30-100€ according with your financial possibilities.

Description

The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) in collaboration with Education First (EF) are organising the second UNAOC-EF Summer School, taking place in Tarrytown, New York, from 13 to 20 June 2015. This week-long summer school brings together 75 youth from across the globe to address pressing global challenges within the context of cultural and religious diversity.
The objectives of the UNAOC-EF Summer School are to:
  • Facilitate moments of encounter, exchange and skill-building between young people;
  • Strengthen young people’s capacity to get involved in the preparation and implementation of joint action across divides;
  • Support youth in maximizing their impact as they bring about social change;
  • Promote long-term collaborative relationships between people from diverse backgrounds;
  • Develop a network of alumni and make it a true platform for joint action to help address global challenges.
One highlight of this year’s Summer School will be a visit to the United Nations headquarters in New York City. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the UN space, how it operates and addresses issues such as disarmament, peace and security.

Eligibility

 

In order to be eligible you must meet the following criteria:
  • be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old on 13 June 2015 — the start of the UNAOC – EF Summer School;
  • be linked to an organization or a network (e.g. youth council, youth NGO, non-profit organization, youth-led organization, community organization, faith-based organization, youth network or platform, college, university, social entrepreneur, blogger, etc.);
  • hold a passport valid until at least January 2016 (for a visa to be issued, a passport needs to be valid for at least 6 months after the expected date of entry into the country);
  • possess upper-intermediate English proficiency.

Costs

The selected participants will be provided with the following:
  • international travel to and from the international airport closest to their residence;
  • cost of USA visa processing (if applicable);
  • shared accommodation (triple or quadruple rooms with participants of the same gender) while in Tarrytown;
  • meals during the official portions of the Summer School;
  • full event access during the entire week of the Summer School;
  • shuttles from and to the airport in New York City;
  • the cost of US and transit visas (if applicable);
  • the cost of vaccinations required to enter the US (if applicable);
  • international travel insurance while traveling from their residence to the Tarrytown campus until their return home from the program.

Training Course: ATOQ CZ – Advanced Training on Quality, in Czech Republic

ATOQ training course aim at increasing quality within youth exchanges. Based on previous exchanges, an international group of youth workers will focus on quality aspects and improve management competences in order to raise quality of future exchanges.

Description

The aim of the ATOQ is to support youth workers/leaders in increasing the quality of the European youth exchanges they set up within the Erasmus + Youth Programme.
The ATOQ training course will provide the participants with opportunities to:
1. Critically reflect upon their previous international youth exchange experience(s) and the impact on young people, organisations and wider community
2. Increase the understanding of different quality aspects of youth exchanges such as: active participation of young people, cooperation with partners, intercultural learning, impact and results; programme building
3. Experience a non-formal learning process and understand how to support young people’s learning process in the project;
4. Improve their project management competences (knowledge, skills and attitudes) in order to better organise the different phases of a youth exchange.
Belgium Flanders, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Poland, Turkey and United Kingdom have reserved places in this training and their applicants will be prioritised in the selection. Their booking takes 15 places from the available 32 places.
Participants from other countries are welcome to apply to the training too if their National Agency is willing to cover their travel costs.

Costs

This project is financed by the Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAs involved in this project – except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country.

Description

The Youth Department of the Council of Europe has open call call for participants for TRAYCE – Training of Trainers for Youth in the Council of Europe, a long-term training of trainers in non-formal education with young people. First residential seminar will be held 12 – 23 June 2015. The training course aims to support the quality development of non-formal education activities in the Council of Europe through the development of competence of trainers active in the youth field. The training of trainers in non-formal education will provide an opportunity for participants-trainers to develop the level of quality of their work, and to improve their competences to design, run and evaluation non-formal education and training activities with young people within the value framework of the Council of Europe.

This training for trainers is organized in several phases as follow:
  1. Preparation for the first residential seminar (mid – April to June 2015);
  2. First residential seminar (12 – 23 June 2015);
  3. Practice and online learning (June 2015 – autumn 2016);
  4. Second residential seminar (autumn 2016);
  5. Evaluation of the course (during autumn / winter 2016).

The Participants should:

  • come  from and be supported by a youth organisation, network, pool of trainers, community etc.;
  • have an educational function, doing non-formal education activities and be motivated to improve their work or identify the need to improve their training activities;
  • be in a position to apply what they have learnt in the course in their education and training practice;
  •  subscribe to the values and approaches of the Council of Europe;
  •  have already some relevant experiences of European level youth work education and training activities;
  •  have the readiness and possibility to run a practice project during the course, on themes related to human rights issues, the situation of young people from disadvantaged neighbourhoods, discrimination, intercultural dialogue, vulnerable groups etc.;
  •  be able to work in English;
  •  have ICT competences and regular access to internet during the course;

Costs

Meals and accommodation for the residential seminars will be provided and paid for by the Council of EuropeTravel costs for the seminars will be fully reimbursed according to the Council of Europe rules.
There is an enrollment fee to the course of 60 Euros is payable by each participant. This amount will be deducted from the amount to be reimbursed for travel expenses or paid during the residential seminar.

Foundation House of Human Sciences (FMSH) invites applications for its short stay research scholarships in France. Scholarships are available to young doctors for short stay (two or three months) in France.
Scholarships are awarded for research on the following topics:
  • Political elites, democratization and civil society in the Caucasus;
  • Regional actors (Iran and Turkey) in the Caucasus;
  • The policies of Russia in the South Caucasus (policy instruments, bilateral, regional policy initiatives);
This new call for applications apply only under the following conditions: Research topics Applicants must be engaged in research on the following topics: Political elites, democratization and civil society in the Caucasus; Regional actors (Iran and Turkey) in the Caucasus and the policies of Russia in the South Caucasus (policy instruments, bilateral, regional policy initiatives). The stay must start at the earliest in May 2015 and no later than November 15, 2015. FMSH asks researchers whose projects have been selected to provide a working paper within three months of their return which will be published on its website.
 

Eligibility

To submit an application, researchers must be nationals of one of the following countries: Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and be linked to a higher education institution research / research institute of one of these countries. They must hold a doctorate (PhD “kandidat”). The thesis (“kandidat”) must have been sustained after 2007. There is no age limit. Researchers from of one of the following countries: Russia, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Fellowship

The award is for a stay of two or three months in France and has a budget of 1500 euros per month to cover transportation and living expenses. In addition, the FMSH ensures his help in obtaining a visa to France and logistics support (help finding housing, letters to libraries, identifying a host laboratory and other).
 

Application

Applicants are invited to send before February 27, 2015 their application, containing the following:
  • Forms " candidate Resume "and" candidate of the Project "
  • Two letters of recommendation (one of the host laboratory if identified)
  • A statement of 10,000 characters maximum (including spaces and notes) consisting of:
  • issues and objectives of the research project
  • a bibliography

Folders can be presented in French or English. The Russian-language files will be accepted subject to provide a summary of 3000 characters in French or English. For the sake of consistency, we ask the candidates to use the Arial font, size 12, and send all file parts in a Word file.

A training course on main EU programmes and initiatives that can be used to support social youth work in Europe. Focused on providing practical working tools to Youth workers, NGOs managers, Youth policy makers.

Description

During 2014 many new programmes of the European Union started, bringing many news on European funds for social and youth activities.
Many programmes have deep roots in past ones, but some of them have quite new methodologies, political and logical framework, funding system, application and management tools.
Download the draft agenda for further details.During this course, participants will engage in a number of activities where they will gain an increased awareness of their leadership style and their privileged role when working with young people. They will develop the skills, attitudes and approaches leaders require to impact positively on the lives of young people.
Main three blocks of this training are leadership, self development and project management.

The aims of this training are:

• To assist participants in the personal self-development of their leadership competencies.
• To enable participants to understand and trust their own ability to inspire young people.
• To provide participants with good communication and group dynamics skills.
• To explore the participants’ organisational skills and how these can be used to support young people in becoming more involved in extra-curricular activities in their community.
• To discover the value of the Erasmus+: Youth In Action programme as a tool for the development of young people.
This would be the 6th edition of this training, that has been already successfully carry on in Switzerland, Spain, Ireland and Portugal.

Costs

 The activity is run in the frame of a Youth in Action project approved in 2012 under action 4.6
Financial conditions are different according to the country of origin of the participants.
Participants from EE, IT, PT, LT, GR are entitled to get 50% of travel costs reimbursed, up to 240 euro (it means that no matter how much the ticket costs, the maximum reimbursement is 240 euro).
Participants from other countries are not entitled to get travel costs reimbursed.
Board and lodging are fully covered (for participants from EE, IT, PT, LT, GR by the project – for participants from other countries by our organization).
For participants from countries other than EE, IT, PT, LT, GR, a participation fee of 50 euro is foreseen.
All participants must be ensured against illness, accidents and third parts liability.
If they are not insured, cost to be paid at arrival is 10 euro.
